Growing up the favorite thing about holidays on my Driscoll side was the "Ham Balls". This year I finally decided to try and conquer it.
I hosted a Friendsgiving for my bookclub, and while I didn't quite make them as good as my Grandma's I think I learned a little more how to get them better.
Joey ground our own ground smoked ham, and ground pork (not ground sausage). We premade them a few nights before and threw them in the fridge, and also threw the extras in the freezer because we'll be bringing them to Thanksgiving this year! Without further delay, here's the recipe!
Ham Balls
1 ½ # GROUND SMOKED HAM
1 # LEAN GROUND PORK
½ # GROUND BEEF
1 EGG
1 ½ C. CRUSHED GRAHAM CRACKERS
1 C. MILK
COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS AND MIX WELL. PLACE IN A SHALLOW BAKING DISH & COVER WITH SAUCE. BAKE 1 HR. AT 350 DEGREES.
SAUCE
1 CAN TOMATO SOUP
1/3 C. VINEGAR
1 C. BROWN SUGAR
1 TSP. DRY MUSTARD
COMBINE INGREDIENTS & MIX WELL (DO NOT COOK). POUR OVER HAM ROLLS. MAKES 35 ROLLS.
Enjoy!
